Clarice
Have you ever done one of those Facebook memes and the result was kinda spot on, but you didn't want to share it on Facebook, but you wanted to keep the silly results for your own record keeping because they're fun and goofy and why not? Well...that was my thought process here. Plus my current obsession with lettering.

It's Just a Little Pocket Mouse
When you're going about your day and you see a cool word or two and you have to stop everything because you think it will look cool written with your favorite brush pen. #craftgeek #letteringdork

Even if you are afraid of Friday the 13th, you gotta admit it's a cool word.

Practicing brush lettering
I've been playing around with my handwriting since I was 8 or 9. I would doodle my name in big bubble letters and dot my i's with hearts or stars. Yes, I was that girl. My 6th grade teacher had some calligraphy pens in his art supplies and I played around with those a bit. But in middle school...oh wait, it was called Jr. High back then, I stopped and just wrote for necessity, not so much for fun. My penmanship was still relatively neat, but aside from silly notes to friends and doodles in the margin, the creativity from my lettering was gone. But over the years, I'd flitter back to different calligraphy styles now and again. And this is one of those times. I'm having fun getting back into paying attention to pen strokes. I use brush markers, not a paint brush. I have, but there's more control with a marker. Turns out the favorite pen that most 'modern' calligraphers use are Tombow pens, ones I've used for card making for over 20 years. I haven't used them in a while, so I'm thrilled that they've found a new life in my new-again hobby.

New Addiction
The first step is admitting you have a problem.
Can't stop pixel art-ing.
So easy to do. Just search pixel art, or Hama bead designs, or post-it note art. This was from a post-it note art search from an office that did their walls in superhero murals. Original post from designboom.

Summer Daily 8: Flexible Like That
I've got a busy, creative week ahead of me. Tonight I went to Kristina's for her monthly stamp club. We made 2 awesome cards.
Whoo hoo!! My Father's Day card is ready!
Isn't this the greatest card to start the summer? Paradise indeed, is right in front of me.
I was also inspired today by a quote that Marah Johnson left on her blog today:
Pretty awesome quote, right??? Love it!

The Susan D Project
A couple of weeks ago, the day before Thanksgiving actually, I received a fun package from Susan D. This is what the package contained:
In the package, there was a list of instructions:
Instructions:
-Lay out contents of this bag on a clean table. (how 'bout floor?)
-Photograph said items.
-Use all of most of these pieces to make a tag, card, scrapbook page, book mark or other.
-Feel free to use any tools you have, just don't add any other elements.
-You don't have to use all the items.
-Have fun creating.
-Take picture of creation.
-Post on blog.
From: your friend Susan D.
PS. That wasn't quite fair since I made you do all the work again!
When I opened the packed, i was SOO excited! How totally FUN! I love challenges like this. It was just a matter of getting the time to sit down and create. Well, of course, the best time to create is when you've got a list a mile long that has to get done by a certain day. So, when I woke up this morning, after checking my email, looking at what my day had in store, I decided to blow it off and create! I pulled Susan's package out, photographed the contents, sat in front of my coffee table w/ Oprah on the tele, and spent 2 hours creating.
Here are the tools I used:
the tree stamp in that set, eggshell acrylic paint, bubble wrap, glue, markers and my crop-a-dile. And a black ink pad for the stamp.
And this was the end result:
I like it a lot! Quite pleased with how it turned out. I fussed with it for, like i said, 2 hours, before it turned into this. It was never suppose to be Christmas related, but it just ended up that way. In fact, in the bag of goodies she gave me, there was a small package that contained a Japanese Ladybug from Illinois and up until the last few minutes, I had it stapled on the collage. But then it turned into a Christmas theme and the ladybug had to be removed. And in case your wondering SusanD, the white paper I stamped on is the back side of leftover scraps. No other elements added. :) I love that the hole punched tape strip. Where can I get some more of that stuff?? What's it called?
Thanks SusanD for the inspiring package. Hope you liked my creation. I'd send it back to ya, but I can't! I created it in my art journal and it's a permanent piece. I'm still hoping to create something with that ladybug. I'll let ya know when I do.

Return to Grace
Not that I fell from grace recently.
At least as far as I know. :)
Just thought I'd share a few creations keeping grace in mind.
Quote Minibook
made this fun minibook at Scraplovers last week. Constantly striving and struggling to remind myself to keep grace in the forefront each day. Ever wonder what to do with those index prints? Use 'em in your mini-albums.
Beeswax Collage
Another creation inspired at Scraplovers. Used beeswax to add elements and dimension to this mixed media piece.
A Little Corner of my Home
Continuous reminders of grace.
Cards
Made these quite a few years ago. But being gracious remains a constant through the years.
Doodle
Inspired by Shiloh McCloud.
A few quotes

Believe it or not, both of these quotes are from a skincare company called Philosophy.

MIA
Haven't had much to say in the past week so haven't had anything to post. But I'm done looking at that old post. I haven't even taken any photos. So here's and old doodle I did about a year ago. Sometimes I just need to post something to get back in the swing of things.
