Anxiously waiting

I've been listening to NPR nonstop for the past week. Reading the various news websites I prefer to visit. And now it's just about over.

Hands at FDR Memorial

A few people asked about the photo I submitted for Macroday's Hand theme. This column, one of five, represents FDR's New Deal.

Here's another perspective of the photo I submitted.

The mural next to the columns had the inverted images of the ones used on the columns.
I originally thought about submitting the following hand to Macroday, but liked the element of my own hand within the photo, too.
More information on the FDR Memorial can be found here and here.

Jefferson Memorial

If you read my post last night, then you can imagine my disappointment when I went to Washington DC last spring and the cherry trees weren't blooming yet. It was the end of March, but they had a very cold winter and the trees were blooming a bit late. 10 days after we were there, the cherry trees were in full blossom. That just means Jimmy and I will have to go back, but in April next time!

Equal Justice Under Law

The Supreme Court, Washington DC.

Photo Tuesday's theme this week is Justice. He selected this theme because he just got a jury summons. Me too. I hope I'm not called, however it could have the potential of being intresting.

I remember my first jury summons. I was 18 and it was a drunk driving case. I was dismissed immediately. That was the only time I've ever gone through the process of being selected or not. I've only had to appear at the courthouse one other time, but within 3 hours of our arrival, we were all dismissed because the case settled out of court. Posted by Picasa
