The Retz-Carlton

My BIL and SIL's home used to be the center of activity. Everyone stayed with them. When their kids were in school, there were always kids coming and going. Their home was lovingly dubbed "The Retz Carlton". Now that we live in a big city, my SIL has passed the torch to us and now we have become "The Retz Carlton". As I've mentioned before, it's one of the biggest pleasures of living here...being a destination spot for our friends and family.

Well, it was a busy weekend and will be a busy week for us...our home filled with family on Saturday and friends the rest of this week.

Even the rain can't keep anyone away.

Jimmy's youngest sister and his parents spent the day with us on Saturday. I made wontons for lunch, then we ventured to Ghirardelli Square for ice cream.

Today was the start of Apple's World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) and many of Jimmy's friends are in the city for it. Jeff stayed with us last night and Jason will stay with us a few more nights this week. Joseph is also in town, but he'll be at a nearby hotel.

Whoda knew that when we decided to move to the city, we'd end up living downtown, just a few blocks from the big convention center? Jimmy's 2 older sisters have already come here for events, and now our friends are here, too. And while the "Ritz-Carlton" might leave a mint on your pillow, if you don't mind sleeping on an air mattress, we guarantee that the "Retz-Carlton" will be a much nicer stay.

Meet me at the airport, I'll be there ASAP. And if you can't manage a mint on the pillow, some chips and dip would be a splendid substitute!
