01-01-11 Happy New Year!

Wishing you and your loved ones a very very Happy New Year!! May the coming year bring you all much love, peace and health.

We rung in the New Year with our dearest friends the Haist-Bowens.

We weren't sure if we were gonna be able to catch the fireworks because of threats of rain. But at 11:20, it was just barely drizzling so we decided to head to the Embarcadero and cross our fingers with a few thousand other festive folks.

We waited just about 15 minutes before the stroke of midnight.
Miss A and I trying not to freeze in the drizzling rain. It was about 41 degrees out but we were all making the best of it!

Even Prince W happily made it through the chilly night even though it was way past his bedtime.

Ed and Jimmy getting ready to celebrate the new year in peace. :D

Then at the stroke of midnight, the fireworks began!! They were set off from a barge in the bay near the Bay Bridge.

One of the most amazing firework displays ever!
And you wanna know something funny? It completely stopped drizzling when the fireworks began. But the most amazing thing was that just literally seconds after the fireworks ended, it started pouring! I mean downpouring! But it completely held off for the 20 minutes of the fireworks!! It was amazing how that happened and a sure sign that 2011 will be a great year!

Your New Year party with the fireworks and your friends sounds like a fun time. There are usually fireworks in my small town to welcome the New Year, but this year the baseball grounds are under construction, so no room to have the usual bonfire and skating. So I stayed home with Callum (almost 3 now!) and we saw the New Year arrive in front of the telly! Well, he was in bed but I know he would have liked to be up! OlderSon came to pick him up just after midnight.
Can you believe it's 2011 already? I am looking forward to something really good to happen this year, can't tell you what, it's still a secret....heeheehee.... you'll have to keep guessing.
