Lots of excitement! We signed a lease on the condo and we're officially movin' to the big city.
So that means that we're in full on packing mode. And mostly, getting-rid-of mode. We've been here 7 years and I'm sure some of you know, when you're in one place for an extended period of time, you accumulate a whole lot of stuff. Stuff you don't want to clutter your new pretty home with.
We didn't have many boxes to pack in till today. It's kinda tough to really start packing if you have nothing to put your stuff into. So now things will start moving along. As I type this post, I hear Jimmy with the tape gun taping boxes shut. Whoohoo!
This was my 2nd carload of stuff that either went to Goodwill or to the secondhand craft store.
Tonight, this pile filled 5 large trash bags of clothes, shoes and bags. You're outta here baby!
Gotta love Freecycle when you're moving. Today, someone from the Campbell library picked all 500+ of these empty cd cases.
Freecycle, in case you're not familiar, is a localized online community that:
"...builds a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community."
We also gave away my 17 year old mountain bike to a 14 year old boy who had to walk a long distance to school. This bike hasn't been used in, oh, 15 years, so I'm sure it'll get a lot more use now than it has the whole time we used it. They were super thankful, it's good to know that the bike will be appreciated and well used.
Alrighty. Enough chitter chatter for now. Back to work!
