In celebration of moms and all women with loving hearts

Today is always an overwhelming day for me. Not only do I miss my mother terribly and feel a bit (a lot) of regret that I didn't tell her often enough how much I appreciate all that she did for me, I'm also overwhelmed with the love and amazing friendship that all of my friends have and give to each other. How so many of my friends extend Mother's Day greetings to me even though I'm not a mom in the literal sense. And even though I can't truly say that I have a mother's heart, in my limited sense of the word, I feel it, not only all my nieces and nephews and 'adopted' nieces and nephews but to all the women in my life. To all the caretakers, mothers, daughters, wives, friends, who celebrate and honor themselves, and the people they care for and love with all their hearts unconditionally, I wish you a Happy Mother's Day.

dontcha just love that my little piggy is sticking out of the blankie? :)

What a cute little baby!
And what a pretty and proud mummy!
(Notice that I said Mummy, I just can't bring myself to write MOM, it's just not right! It's giving in to Northamericanisms. My sons have to call me Mummy even though they'd really like to say Mom.)

What a beautiful post. And what a wonderful photo of you and your mom. You can see pride in her eyes.
