Let the Good Times Roll

Tonight we had a fun New Year's GTG with the Purple Magma group which now consists of 10 adults and 9 kids. It's so much fun watching the kids grow up and play whenever we all get together.
And it's also fun to hang out with good friends who we've known for over 15 years.
I love how this group organizes our meals. Gotta give kudos to Whitney for this one b/c I think she's the one who started it this way and we've just stuck with it every time we get together. There are 5 families so we always split up the "pot luck" with someone bringing a)appetizers, b) main entree, c&d)2 sides and e)dessert. The host family usually does the entree and beverages then the rest of the families pick which part of the meal they want to bring. I think its brilliant. We had veggies, cheese and crackers for appetizers; a honey baked ham, mashed potatoes and green salad for our main meal; then a choice of mini-cupcakes, chocolate dipped rice crispy bars or peanut butter and jelly bars for dessert. Good friends and good food!

If you'd like to see all the pics, they're here.

The kids are really cute and it looks like you had so much fun on your GTG! What a great way to organise a pot luck supper.
My big news is that my youngerson and family have moved from their house 3/4hr drive away to their new (well not really new, 25 yrs old) house 1.6k away... that's a 5 minute drive! It's so nice to know that they are living so much closer.

What fun...and what a great idea. I don't have enough friends to have that kind of party, but maybe Steve and I can figure out something for 2 people!

I love how active you are, Mad. You make me tired just thinking about it. :)
