I've mentioned before that in the part of San Jose that we live, it's traditional to put a single Christmas tree in your front lawn, with colored lights, topped with a single white one. The big old fashioned light bulbs are the best, but of course, the least efficient. I'm excited that our neighbors are participating in the tradition and we get to reap the rewards.

I'll print these photos and work them into my Daily December journal, but I wanted to post these pics first.
Do you have a nearby neighborhood that does the tricked out "Christmas Vacation" style lights?
side note: Turning Word Verification in comments back on again. Starting to get repeated blog spam. Boo.

Oooooh, I heart this tree. No wonder it makes you smile. And the blurry photo. . . makes my imagination run wild. Thank you.
My local town is advertising a competition for the homeowner with the best and most garish (in my opinion) Christmas lights display, with a cash prize for the winner.
And yet, they encourage us to cut down on our energy use and only use what's necessary.... ironic, doncha think?
Awww. I love your new header, Mad. In Atlanta we always had two inside trees...one with white lights and one with colored lights. The best of both worlds! :)
