Unexpected turn of events

We were in S. California for quick business meeting and to spend some time with family. But on the day we were leaving, I walked out to the car and saw this:
GASP. Am I really seeing what I'm seeing?
Um. Yea. In the middle of the night, some teenagers (according to a witness) decided to do a quick smash and grab.SIGH.
Well, it happens. Even in nice neighborhoods. Sure, it's a pain in the ass dealing with filing a criminal report, calling insurance, getting the window fixed, and replacing what was stolen. But honestly, we count our blessings whenever we don't meet our assailants. This was the 3rd time one of our cars had gotten broken into. Hopefully 3rd time is a charm and we've paid our dues.

On another note!
Enjoyed a relaxing walk with my SIL along the beach at Crystal Cove the day before the drama.

Now we're home, safe and sound. Spending the rest of the weekend as quietly and drama free as possible.

Ouch. . . that's no fair. So sorry. Things like that are such a violation, not only of the law, but of your space. I'm sorry.

But the beach is amazing. Hope you were able to forget your car troubles for a bit.

GASP! Oh no, that's so horrible. What did they take? I hope it wasn't anything that can't be replaced. It makes you feel horrid inside when you go out and find you've been robbed. Luckily, knock on wood, cross fingers etc etc, it hasn't happened to me "yet". And BTW, that's a super Volvo, I had a DL station wagon for 21 years, he was a faithful friend, hardly ever let me down (well, once or twice), he was Red, and his name was Erik the Red Volvo.

That is awful.....such a violation of your personal space. Tell me Kindle wasn't in the car....I might cry. I got a promo email and I quickly forwarded it to Steve. The water looks heavenly.

I guess no one is exempt, Mad, and why would we expect to be! But still, it is such a violation. I remember when our home was robbed years ago and what that felt like. Sigh. Thank God no one was hurt!
