We've been friends since the 9th grade. She was my maid of honor. She's seen the bad and the good. She held me when I was at my weakest. And she'll be here to celebrate my 40th birthday on Friday!
Check these old photos:

What were you doing in 1984?

Hey, Mad, those are great photos. Happy memories eh? So glad your friend is coming to visit, you'll both have a blast!
And I hear that you are off to Chateau Retzlaff for a summer holiday, all the best, have a wonderful time with your extended family, and I'll be looking forward to your return with lots of blogworthy stories.
And what was I doing in 1984? Well... OlderSon was finishing public school and preparing to start high school and I had a 2year old at home.... life was pretty busy... I think I went to England on holiday that year....
Ha! What great pics. I loooove seeing the "then and now". How special is your friendship! Wow.
Enjoy your time together.

Omg! D looks the same! Not sure if I'm supposed to use names or not on blog comments... hmm, please advise. Anyhoo, I was graduating from high school in 1984 and in May I got my 1st job at Arby's! (I remember because I started on my actual birthday) Coincidentally, I ran into my old boss, the owner of Arby's at the bank about a month ago! We chatted, I reminded him of how he let me drive his Corvette. He wanted me to manage his store, kept asking & asking, I was like um, I'm in college! (Mt. Sac before Cal Poly)... sigh...memories...
Giggle, giggle. Don't you love photos from the 80s?
In 1984 I was starting high school, using lots of Aquanet and watching Friday Night Videos.
Have a marvelous 40th!
