The most memorable event that happened yesterday was the rain. In 39 years, I don't recall it ever raining on my birthday. I know that in the Midwest and east coast, summer rains are par for the course, but in California, our summers are bone dry. Our local news commented that in the recorded history of the bay area, it has never rained on July 18th. I loved it - it really just barely sprinkled, but the cool weather and light precipitation was refreshing. And ending the day with a guiltless slice of chocolate cake and butter cream frosting certainly was the icing. :)

So glad you had a wonderful day, Mad, and I know exactly how you felt about having rain on your birthday! It rained a bit on mine and I was in heaven. I LOVE the rain.
Happy BirthWEEK again!
It is a celebration. . . and I am glad you treated it that way.
What a beautiful journal.
I hope you went outside and caught some of those precious drizzly raindrops on your tongue... making the birthday like no other birthday in recorded history of the Bay area!!
So now it's the long haul to.... dare I say it??.... f...f...for... four.... fourt... FORTY! hahahah been there, done that!
I missed which day the b-day would be. The 18 July is my dad's birthday, too. See Christina's in-law birthday for a nearly identical experience. haha
40 is the best ever. Much better than 39.
...they say rain is tears of joy.
Now I know it is true.
It sounds like you had a great birthday! Sorry I've been so absent lately...I'm desperately trying to catch up!
