Here are a few other creatures that I don't know the name of.

But I do know that these are sea gulls and seals.
The funny thing is that I was concentrating on looking for sea creatures in the tide pools, that I really just glanced up to look at the horizon and quickly snapped this photo. I noticed the gulls, but it wasn't till a few minutes later when Phin and I heard one of them honking noisily that we realized the seals were out there. Sometimes I focus in on a certain thing that I don't see the big picture. Case in point: When I took this photo I.Never.Even.Noticed.The.Seals. Not until just a few minutes ago when I was reviewing the photos I shot. Yes, sitting here before you is a big OBLIVIOUS dork.
Well, 90% oblivious. I did open my eyes enough to see this:
A sea rock with a white heart in it. Pretty cool, yesh?

You are so funny, Mad, and I must say that I identify with you TOTALLY when it comes to seeing but not seeing! I almost always see something after the fact. So I will gladly join you in the Dork Circle. :)
That rock at the end is really a find. Did you keep it?
Ginnie: I almost took it with me. I picked it up, brushed it off, walked away...then threw it back down. It's a Reserve so it's one of those places where you really have to "leave only footprints, take only memories."
Such beautiful sights! Thanks for sharing these lovely photos.
wow. The things you take pictures of are the things I've only seen pictures of. I'd love to see those things in person. (except seagulls, we have those in parking lots... so I've seen them.) Although, much like you I tend to be oblivious... or as I like to say "non-observant" because I am busy observing something else.
I love the Friends reference. I can picture it.
The rock is oober cool. I see the heart. I also see a winged creature of some sort...it's sort of like figuring out what clouds look like.
I had to laugh at your recollection of how you hear the names of such things. I tend to be that way as well. Don't feel badly, I can't say "comfortably".
And sometimes we miss the details, sometimes we see the big picture. It's all good, right?
murex (?), barnacles, limpets, mussels.
or in your case gazert, maccklemuck, sharshutz, narluk. Haha!!!
Nice, I mention SC in one of my posts and there you go, rubbing it in my face...GRRRRR. :) HMB and the cute town and the gorgeous drive home.
