Success!

This is the 2nd pie I've ever made and I'm very happy to report that I couldn't have asked for it to turn out better! The crust was flaky but not dry (like my first attempt about a month ago).

Had a good and quiet weekend. Truly nothing fantastical to blog about, just enjoying the peace, calm and hominess of fall, including baking a pecan pie. :-)

Awww. I'm proud of you because making pies was never in my department. Bill (my Ex) always made them with the kids. This one--I could reach out and gobble it all up without you even knowing. HA.

Congrats on the pie. I'm not much of a baker and have ruined a couple of pumpkin pies in my time!

Whenever I made my first pecan pie, I was very distressed that all of the pecans would not rise to the top. They did, it's a miracle.

Mmmmmm. Beautiful.
